Challenge
The institution’s Tribal EBS student management system was out of support and approaching retirement. Its complex higher education and vocational education and training requirements needed to be carried across to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
The transition required substantial customisation to accommodate processes previously managed in Tribal EBS, making this a multi-year implementation spanning business requirements, application development and platform administration.
MCA’s work
McArthur & Associates provided functional analysts, business analysts, PeopleSoft developers, system administrators and release-management specialists to support the implementation.
The team helped translate the institution’s requirements into PeopleSoft functionality and supported the development and delivery of customisations needed to accommodate VET within Campus Solutions. Functional and technical specialists worked across the programme over several years.
Following the successful implementation, MCA supported a PeopleTools upgrade and the application of the latest PeopleSoft Update Manager updates available at the time to maintain platform supportability.
Published scope
Student management capabilities transitioned from Tribal EBS to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, with customisations supporting the institution’s education and VET requirements.
Subsequent PeopleTools and application updates modernised the existing PeopleSoft environment and helped maintain a supported platform for ongoing operations.
Challenge
The university needed to upgrade PeopleSoft Campus from version 9.0 to 9.2 and move its student systems to AWS. The programme covered > 20 environments.
The work required coordinated changes across applications, databases and infrastructure, supported by functional expertise and change management.
MCA’s work
McArthur & Associates provided AWS and PeopleSoft technical specialists, functional consultants, change-management professionals and system administrators.
More than 50 consultants contributed across the programme’s functional areas. The initial stage combined the PeopleSoft Campus upgrade with implementation on AWS. Infrastructure was created using Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices. A subsequent stage delivered PUM and PeopleTools upgrades alongside updates to the AWS-hosted infrastructure.
Published outcome
PeopleSoft Campus upgraded from 9.0 to 9.2 and student-system environments migrated to AWS.
The programme encompassed > 20 student-system environments, followed by further application, tooling and infrastructure upgrades to maintain the modernised environment.
Challenge
The retailer needed to modernise critical database infrastructure while maintaining the availability of its core stock replenishment systems.
With potential outage impacts of up to $1 million per hour, migration planning and operational resilience were central to the work. The wider environment also required performance improvements to support high-volume processing and the rollout of point-of-sale systems across a large store network.
MCA’s work
McArthur & Associates led multiple Oracle Exadata X6 and X7 implementations and upgrades. Oracle Data Guard and GoldenGate were used to migrate core replenishment systems without downtime.
The work also included enterprise-wide performance tuning, with SQL and PL/SQL optimisation targeting batch-processing workloads.
To validate operational resilience, the team carried out disaster recovery testing, RMAN backup validation and Oracle Real Application Testing to assess performance regressions across upgrades and critical business events.
Published scope
Core replenishment systems migrated with zero downtime.
SQL and PL/SQL optimisation delivered batch-processing improvements of up to 50 times, while the broader programme supported a point-of-sale rollout across more than 2,500 stores.
Challenge
The organisation needed to modernise its integration environment and move existing interfaces onto Oracle Integration Cloud. The scope included transitioning file transfers from FTPS to SFTP and developing API and web-service integrations.
These changes supported sector-wide payment processing, making the move into production and subsequent business-as-usual operation a central part of delivery.
MCA’s work
McArthur & Associates delivered the Oracle Integration Cloud platform and migrated 46 integrations. The work included moving file-transfer connections from FTPS to SFTP, followed by API and web-service development.
This combined the introduction of the integration platform with changes to the interfaces supporting payment processing. The engagement carried the solution through go-live and into production and business-as-usual operation.
Published scope
Oracle Integration Cloud delivered with 46 integrations migrated.
Sector-wide payment processing successfully went live, with the solution transitioned into production and ongoing business-as-usual operation.
